AEO and AI search: How to check
Each of these checks takes under ten minutes and needs no tool and no expertise. Do them yourself rather than reading about them in a report.
The checks, in order
01 Ask an assistant about your own company
Three times, on three different days. Write the answers down. This is the available measure and it is manual.
02 Give a page URL and ask for a summary
If the summary is generic or wrong, the machine is not reading the page. That is a problem before all others.
03 Open one page with the network off
If the text disappears when you cut the connection after load, the content is assembled by a script. Ask the provider what they do about it.
04 Read the first two sentences under each heading
If they do not answer the question in the heading, the page is not ready to be cited, whatever the report says.
